Five Daily Prayers

The second pillar of the Islamic monotheistic faith is prescribed to every Muslim. It can be done in a normal standing, seated, or layed down position, according to specific circumstances related to health issues or the physical  aptitude of the performer. The state in which it is performed follows a set of prerequisites which are as follows:

  1. Pray at the specific time.
  2. Be in a state of purity.
  3. Formulate the intention to pray.
  4. Follow the steps in the prayer.
  5. Complete the mandatory ritual acts.
  6. Complete the number of ra’kaas which vary according to the prayer at the specific time of the day.

Mass or group prayer is the most preferred way to pray and is offered five times a day at our Masjid Touba location.
