Naming Ceremonies

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he birth of a child in the community of believers is a sign from Allah that its members are increasing in number as He recommends them to do. It’s a joyful moment that is seen in the Muslim community as a sign of blessing from Allah (SWT) not bestowed to everyone, man or woman. Many are not blessed with the capabilities of procreating in order to enjoy fatherhood or motherhood.

Members of the Muslim faith are required to name their newborn on the seventh day after their birth IMGP0497_jpgand to choose a Muslim name for them. It is a very important moment in the life of the parents and also for the members of the community.

Since every member of the community does not have the ability to perform the Naming ceremony ritual, the are advised to request for their Imam’s services. The ritual can be conveniently performed either at the mosque or at the home of the Parents.
